The Lord is Faithful... but Sometimes We Must Wait and Trust Him
All through the Scriptures we can see the faithfulness of God. He keeps His Word. Many times, in the Bible we read about people who prayed for something, but they had to wait for God's answer.
Genesis 39:19 tells that Joseph was falsely accused and sent to prison. God heard Joseph's prayer and God answered it in a way he never dreamed, but it took time.
During that time God allowed Joseph to learn the language, customs, government, and grew in wisdom, and he learned so much more. He taught Joseph to see the big picture and that although it was cruel of his brothers to send him to Egypt, he came to understood it was meant for good. He was able to save his family and most of humanity by being sent there. He learned to forgive his brothers and to trust God all the more.
I am going through a trial right now. one person is being particularly cruel to me.
I feel a bit like Hannah, who prayed for a child, but was barren. Her husband had another wife, Peninnah, who had many children. She was jealous of Hannah, so she had no compassion for Hannah, but rather she mocked and taunted her. Being barren in those days was the worst thing possible to happen to a woman. 1 Samuel chapter one tells us about these things. God did hear Hannah's prayer. He is so faithful, but sometimes we must wait and trust God. Psalm 27:14 "Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord."
Blessings, Kathi
